Hi Malcolm. Lesley and I use the G3 Interphone set when she is on her scooter and I follow on the LT. Found the units very effective – nice clear speech up to about 5-600 meters apart but get scratchy after that and don't have much wind noise. Our units have only been tested up to around 60kph as that's as fast as the scooter goes ;D. Care needs to be taken when removing your helmet as the wiring for the ear speakers feel a little light however we haven't had a problem – just a feeling. Charging is simple, just use the supplied usb wall chargers. Can be a little fiddly at first getting used to the “pairing” of the units but once mastered it's not too bad. Overall we think they were a good buy for our needs. Cheers.

Resene Paints is accepting tinned food donations into their ColorShops. The donations will be sent to Christchurch for those in need. Please spread the word and help where you can – every little bit helps. Cheers, Ingel

Haven't tried for trade in but use Hamilton for servicing – good customer care and price.

New artists impression and spy pic (next post). Looks like more of a K1300GT upgrade than an LT replacement

The latest off a Dutch website – excuse the rough translation. BMW is BMW K 1600 GT K 1600 GTLJust get the mail within that BMW July 2 - tomorrow - officially at 12.00 K and K 1600 GT 1600 GTL launches. So the spy photos over the Internet last week roamed, were true. Whether it was a cylinder, we can now confirm. The first six-cylinder BMW engine ever. Horex name is already a competitor! With the mail we received the official press info and photos. But unfortunately, we can because of the embargo until July 2 at 12.00 anything with it. More tomorrow! Hmm, somehow I don't think I will hold my breath

Courtesy of the BMW Luxury Touring Community website:Spotted near Los AngelesSome think this may be a shot of the new LT, while others think it is the rumored new "Luxury" GT. Clearly showing the same stalk mounted mirrors, windshield mechanism and front suspension as the current K1300GT and similar lower baggage as the GT but sporting some new cladding - this bike shares a lot with the current GT. With a fairing mounted antenna like the current R1200RT it is likely equipped with a radio and rumors have been rampant about new electronics and communication. The topcase looks redesigned, with a larger and more supportive backrest, but still could be removable like the current GT or RT. While many reports state that this bike is equipped with the new "concept 6" engine, it is impossible to tell for sure from these pictures. The engine appears to be much wider, noting that the lower portion of the bodywork exposes the engine. Whatever it is, it seems very likely we will see the real deal this fall.

Thank you all for your replies. I was in Hamilton today so called into the agent there. They quoted $240 for a full set of pads (ABS, after market) and between $80 – $160 for fitting. The reason for the variance in fitting cost is that some models are a standard fit and others need to be put on the computer to reset the ABS.  Cheers.

That's it! I'm buying a 250cc cause that will be much safer than my LT.  😀
