Seeing that most of my notifications are short term I ended up riding alone again. I still had a great time and managed to get in about a 100km of gravel without trying too hard. The Basic is not feeling well at the moment, it has some problems with the exhaust plumbing. Hopefully it will be back in a few weeks. It's a short report. I went to Kawhia via gravel from Raglan onwards after having travelled HW22. The return trip was similar, except for a short excursion down Kawhia Rd which had a slip and a quick trip around the mountain. Met a German named Werner on an RT with knobblies on. He reckoned riding NZ with out gravel is like riding Germany and staying on the Autobahn. Werner keeps the R80RT in NZ and seems to come here quite often. Some random pictures.DSC02910-1.jpgDSC02920.jpgDSC02919.jpgDSC02917.jpgDSC02916.jpgDSC02914.jpgDSC02921.jpgDSC02922.jpgDSC02925.jpgDSC02924.jpgDSC02927.jpgDSC02926.jpgDSC02929.jpgDSC02927.jpgDSC02928.jpgDSC02930.jpgDSC02932.jpgDSC02931.jpg

Thanks Garry. I won't need the spanner as the thread is totally stuffed. I have ordered this gadget 01110007_vga.jpgIt should be cheaper than having the thread rebuilt.

I found them here -> <a href="http://www.price.gmxhome.de/sternmutterersatz.html" class="bbcode_url">http://www.price.gmxhome.de/sternmutterersatz.htmlThe website is German, but the info has convinced me that it is viable.  Big plus is that I won't need to carry special tools to work on the exhaust. On the otherhand, who ever needs to work on their exhaust anyway. Eventually my numbers will come through and I'll be able to put it back the way the BMW gods have intended it to be.
