Hit a snag with the wiring on my R100/7, the starter motor won't turn, power to it and bench tested it.  have discovered the wiring connected with the starter relay is getting warm, the indicators have started flashing all four when I hit the start button………..help!

Could be the main frame loom has chafed through somewhere, 😐 or some of the teminals have lost conductivity, 😮 check the earth cable, maybe run a separate one from the Starter motor to the Neg terminal. The normal earth path from the starter motor isn't the best. 😳 It is a matter of elimination. good luck. 😀 😀

Progress at last, having not been near the bike for a few weeks, I tackled it today with a fresh brain and think I have got to the bottom of the problem. Although registered as a 1977 R100/7 I checked the chassis number and have discovered it's in fact a 1978 R100/7 which has a slightly different wiring set up which included a buzzer relay for the indicators, it seems that although the buzzer is long gone the relay remained. I think the relay is duff and as it shares some of the same wirng as the starter relay, some of these wires have melted. Anyway at least I have a glimpse of light at the end of the tunnel.
