yeterday's ride saw seven bikes leave Caltex Rimutuka for a ride to a cafe at Woodville, 'Beyond the Bridge' and on to the Wind Farm above Ashurst. In fact we did not make it up to the Wind Farm - the wind being too strong.Going over the Rimutukas the wind made things challenging and from North of Masterton to Woodville the wind intensified making riding really difficult. The was a real risk of being blown off of the road. The cafe was great serving wholesome meals and good coffee. After lunch Peer and I set off to Wellywood via the back roads. We had good fun in the gravel between Balance and South of Eketahuna before rejoining State Highway Two North of Mt Burce.En route we came across this major washout in Tararua Road just out of Balance. A satisfying ride made very tiring by the strong winds.
Good one guys. sorry not making it, work, work. 😡Catch you on the next one.

Hi Adv Tharon I'm looking forward to meeting up with you. Peer is keen on riding the 'Roads less travelled' also - Cheers S 🙂
Good stuff Aslan, annoyed with myself a bit for not making this ride but other things to take care of. Did you have a think about tackling Ridge North Road again?P.S. I know that 10 December is the Wellington Christmas lunch over in Masterton, but for personal reasons we won't go to lunch at that particular venue. Jo and I are considering an alternative gravel option with Mr and Mrs Warewolf to a picnic lunch out at Pahaoa Station. You and Peers are welcome along if you wish.

I think Garry is referring to a 4WD track that runs off the top of the Pahiatua Track and is used to reach the Wind Farm. Yip Garry 'd be up for doing that track with you and other dual sport bimmer owners over the summer. Re 10 December as you know i'm always up for a gravel ride. hope to see you at a weekday lunch before then.Cheers Aslan (aka Stephen O 🙂PS to take a look at the little 'chook chaser' i recently acquired, go here http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=174648&page=2 and scroll down to last entry on this page.

Alex - nice looking XR for Gerda. Between you, you have some interesting bikes in your stable. How's the R80 G/S Basic working out? Are you still enjoying your R1150GS? Cheers Aslan 😉

The bikes compliment each other well, but space is starting to run out. We don't have the key for the Xr yet, so we don't know what it's like. The courier has dropped the ball.
