Run starts 1000 hrs from Ngamotu Beach, Sat 04 Dec. I will be leaving Caltex Bombay at 1500 hrs, Friday 03 December. I'm gonna put the tent up at the Top Ten Holiday Park, so make your own arrangements for a cot. This ride is far more interesting than a cruise up the motorway from Pacific Rise to Dorkland. Round the Mountain, with mondo enthusiasm. We will consult about the trip back over dinner (somewhere) Saturday evening, but I know Team Foley are keen to go up the Forgotten Highway - I used to know the way, but I have forgotten......................
AnonymousInactive04/10/2010 at 8:54 amPost count: 72Ah the Forgoten Highway Adrianne and I traveled it about a year ago. Sadly in away there is only 14kms of metal left. Always a treat to stop of at the Whangamomona Hotel for a plate & jug. But there be no petrol hikes there ain't none. Full tanks please. I say sadly because it is so nice to ride through some tranquility. Doesn't it sound like I'm up for this ?

AnonymousGuest05/10/2010 at 4:04 amPost count: 2134For anyone else, who, like Alex, hasn't read page 5 of the October newsletter, I quote, "Akl Runs, October 10.Sunday 10 Oct.0830, BP PapakuraMatata for a burger. This will be a "Big Day Out" Ride. It's over 500 kms, say seven and a half hours on the road. So we'll break it up with plenty of spells, but it is still not going to be a ride for the faint of heart, or soft of butt. Down via Tauranga, home via Manawahe, Hamurana and the Mamakus. Note that we are leaving early, 0830. Sat 16 Oct 100900, OTD (ON THE DOT, for those who don't speak Bruce language), leaving from Caltex, Collision Crossroads, Bombay. Day ride to AGM: dinner on the road, home by headlight.Sun 24 Oct 100930, Starbucks Westgate.Lunch ride to Leigh Sawmill Cafe.Sat 30 Oct 10Nearly Haloween Midnight MadnessAutobahn BOMBAY (not Papakura), 2200. Around the block to Kaiaua, Clevedon, Maraetai, Whitford etc, and dessert at Denny's, Highland Park as an aftermatch. Do not come on this ride if you are night blind or dunno where the dipswitch for your headlight is!Sun 07 Nov 100930, BP PapakuraOverdue ride to Raglan. Sadly, Raglan has become a victim of its own success: I will nominate Blacksands for lunch, 'cos the tucker is good, but the chances of getting all of us in one place at lunchtime, even in early November are pretty slim. Personally, I will take a thermos and some sarnies, and go sit on a rock at the beach and watch the surfers." I will eventually get them on the interweb, but I seem to have been a bit busy lately: still looking for my round tuit.

AnonymousGuest09/10/2010 at 8:33 amPost count: 2134And, hey, if you don't want to go to New Plymouth, don't forget your local BRONZ Toy Run on this date. The Auckland one traditionally starts at Pacific Rise (BMW HQ). (I'm sure someone will very shortly post the details if they read this and know the hot steaming guts – put it in a new post for the AKL stay-at-homes, would be my suggestion.)Help the Sallies help the community: big holiday weekends are so tough for families in need.
AnonymousGuest28/11/2010 at 6:38 amPost count: 2134Rapidly approaching, and I have just realised I have two start points and times in different media! Dipstick, Bwucie!.So, as per the newsletter it will be 1430 from BP Papakura. We will haul off the motorway at Bombay about 1445 and pick up anyone from Pukekohe at the Caltex gas station.
