It's over 500 kms, say seven and a half hours on the road. So we'll break it up with plenty of spells, but it is still not going to be a ride for the faint of heart, or soft of butt. Down via Tauranga, home via Manawahe, Hamurana and the Mamakus. Note that we are leaving early, 0830. Sat 16 Oct 100900, OTD (ON THE DOT, for those who don't speak Bruce language), leaving from Caltex, Collision Crossroads, Bombay. Sadly, Raglan has become a victim of its own success: I will nominate Blacksands for lunch, 'cos the tucker is good, but the chances of getting all of us in one place at lunchtime, even in early November are pretty slim. Personally, I will take a thermos and some sarnies, and go sit on a rock at the beach and watch the surfers."
