Gerda and I went for a  gravel ride today to give her an opportunity to get used to the XLR200. I had to push the forks through a bit and back off the suspension to lower the seat height just a tad. I also pumped up the tyres, but too much as it turned out. Once aired down a bit the bike behaved much better. We took as many gravel roads as we could on our way to Puhoi. After a quick meal we carried on towards the West Coast on gravel. From there on to Kaipara Flats and up the Kaipara Hills road. Down to Highway 16 and back to Auckland. Roughly 180km with quite a but of gravel. The little XLR did well and was able to get up to 110km/h on the main roads. I know, I know where are the pictures? Only took a few.DSC02781.jpgDSC02782.jpgDSC02786.jpgDSC02785.jpgMy new desktop pictureDSC02784.jpg

I dropped the HP2 25mm down the front forks today after Saturdays ride. There are a lot on top rides who race with the front forks pushed through. The bike will steer tighter on the corners.
