There is a fine, old, and very good tradition that what goes on when away should stay away, and so it was with this weekend. Here is some of the innocent stuff:By the moment of arrival in New Plymouth people were making it plain it was a very serious ride in aid of an important charity, and there would be no laughter or joking. "Yeah, right!"
Bwucie blew Rincewind into the weeds in the "Put up your hoochie the fastest" challenge.
Saturday morning, while walking off the (almost) excessive amount of grog consumed the night before, we came across this work of art bridge that has been built as part of New Plymouth's Coastal Walkway: there is no way the bridge's picture frame alignment is just a fluke.
Kerry and Wendy both ask, "Does this bridge make my bum look big?"
Yes, you can get more toys on a Hardly Dangerous trike than onya average Beemer.
We left the cast of thousands (well, coupla hundy) at Hawera waiting for sausies from the Sallies, and shot off and picnicked at a beach. It was mentioned that the bikes were getting a bit dirty.
And suddenly there was an obvious solution, but nobody was prepared to be the initial crash-test dummy, so they stayed dirty.
Rusty met some new friends (this is just a small sample: they collected a couple of vehicles full on the way around the mountain), but we would not let him stay, much to his disappointment.
And as for these two, it beats me how they expect to get into the US of A next year when they behave like this.
Some of the above images are UncaMoose's, some are mine. We may yet see more from some of our co-offenders.'Twas a damn fine weekend, over some damn fine roads: highlight for me of all of it? Gotta be from the Forgotten World Highway up through Ohura and Matiere - yeeha!! ;D
Good to see you all enjoyed yourselves as usual. The Auckland toy run was very poorly attended, I would imagine around half of last years run and no police escort, although I was told they did have a block on so we could get onto the motorway. There was also no one on any of the overbridges waving as is usual but maybe it was because it was poorly advertised, never saw anything about it in any of the bike mags.Very poor show 🙁

AnonymousInactive06/12/2010 at 9:55 amPost count: 182without a doubt one of the best days riding I have ever had was the return journey up the forgotten world highway and the weather conditions were perfect, the weekend was a great experience, good company and nice facilities at the top ten camp ground in N.P.,which incidentally is a short walk to a rather good pub that serves food that fills the plate at prices that don't empty ya pocket.Bwucie beat me in the how quick can you build a tent competition, however I was handicapped from the start by the fact that I had to bring a tent that actually fitted a full grown Anglo Saxon....For those who elected to go on the A.K.toy run instead you missed 1186 Kilometres of well conducted motorcycling fun with bendy bits galore, well done Bwucie,my favourite bit was definatley keeping up with "Bwuciestini "on the road out to Ohura on my humble GS. Oh yes and the down hill section on Mt Messenger that was pretty cool too.Tried to get rid of the clingon cloak when I got home but the federation had its blast sheild up and would not let me penetrate it with my credit card,I will try again when I get back from Napier.RegardsRincewind........
AnonymousGuest08/12/2010 at 7:56 amPost count: 2134Some of Wendy's pix:Grub run. You are not allowed in this PC world to mention "fat", so we have to have a code word. Here you see two "powerful" bitches on an RS - Red Baron taking UncaMoose to get dinner. At the same time the slender and beautiful Kerry Red Baron, Rincewind, and Bwucie went for some tonsil wash.Man, the lady at Whangamomona Pub has an attitude, but I guess customer service doesn't much matter when you are the only show in town.Rincewind looking like he's hated every minute of the weekend, NOT!
