It is not IF but When I fall off my 1200gs on a track,Does one have to get the fallin one(not the girlfriend, she would be up yapping before we hit the ground)up asap to stop oil travelling into places (ie the cyliner head)and losing gas out of the breather tubes which would make starting hard or do you have a short preiod of time.  😕

Once the bike is upright again, let it rest as long as you can, so the liquids can run back to where they should be, if they want. Start the bike as for a hot engine.

There is always enough time to take a photograph or two. Oil gets splashed around anyway. You might want to check for leaking battery acid, depends on the type of battery you have. More importantly, take a moment to think about how you are going to pick the bike up, don't just rush into it. It's a great way to do your back in, if you are not careful.

If I was a brave man I could ask the girlfriend to lift the bike to save my back, Least it would be a quiet ride home  😆

picking up bikes eh I knew how to ( back up to bike grab bars & say frame bend at the knees and walk backwards ) works every time untill you have wet slippery footing and a female officer is watching. 😳

NOD, on it's side and not running is not generally too much of an issue. Plenty of time to get yourself together, have a coffee then think about how you going to lift the thing up for the sixth time that day  😀 😀Upside down is not so good  😛KIF_1180.jpg

It was bloody hard to turn off, took me a while to figure out that upside down means that the kill switch is now on the left. Considering this happened about 50000km ago, it couldn't have been too much of a problem. I still haven't figured out how to get the mud out from under the rev-counter sight glass.
