    Little and local south, heading for lunch at Calendula Cafe near Waiuku.  Leaving Southbound Motorway Service Centre at 0930.

    I have just bought a Dakar and joined this forum. I live in Waiuku and would be keen to join this ride and meet a few other bikers. Where exactly is the start?

    Southern motorway, Southbound, midway between Papakura on ramp and Drury off ramp.

    went to the mighty Orkland today.  😮 traffic was banked up from Ramarama to Papakura sth bound and Takanini to Otara while i was travelling north. Traffic nice and light around Ponsonby. I suspect this was 45 % of the cars in Auckland were in that big parking lot called the Southern Mway. About faced and headed for home. Traffic still stopped from Manukau, Clearly those Aucklanders are unaware of the road called Great Sth Road. Could see cars crawling all tha way to Ramarama from GSR. Oh to live to Orland . yeah right

    Not a great day for a little and local for oldies/littlies, and I will have to be in a cage, as Experience still have my bike (for Hu Nose how much longer?)We are booked for 1 p.m., so if anybody wants to make their own way, follow the Steel Mill Road to Glenbrook Station Road, then very shortly after the Vintage Railway turn into Collie Road, Calendula Cottage Cafe is on your right, 120 metres.
