Does anyone know out there if any type of special tool is required to get at the spark plugs?? Or what size socket is required to get at those suckers??Dave  😕

Do you have a full tool set? That would include a lead puller(plastic clamp that lets you grip the lead plug) and the socket to get the plug out.

That would be a no… have taken the covers off and taken the leads off…just can't reach those little buggers…

Maybe time to invest in a tool kit.Especially when going on long trips, when the need arise to replace a plug on the side of the road. 👿

What does "a full tool set comprise" and where is one obtainable - & likely cost?

Go http://www.maxbmwmotorcycles.com/fiche/MainDiagrams.asp?mospid=47979 to see a parts list for an 1150GS toolkit.IMHO you're better off sourcing a selection of tools you need locally (Powerbuilt or similar) and getting a generic roll bag from somewhere like Motomail.Cheers,Garry

Thanks for the help. Have got the problem sorted. I'm going to get a few mates to make a small box for inside the pannier frame for tools.

😀 yes Dave, Kokopelli is quite correct in that there are at least five different spark plug body sizes that I'm aware of , best you find out what spark plug is recomended for your bike and that will tell from the catalogue it's body size, then you can check to see if you have the correct tool, rocket scientists eat your hearts out, cheers bucky.
