Hey everyone,I have my 07 R1200GS crated and ready to ship, but thought I would ask if anyone has good experience with a shipping line from the west coast of USA/CAnada?Also, I just remembered about the headlight and thought I should also ask if anyone knows if I will need to change the headlight to compensate for the "other side of the road" thingy.....Al Gill

I don't think you'll need to worry about the headlight, or are you going to register it here?

West Coast, I used Kiwi Shipping as part of a tour from NZ to USA/Canada, they ship out of LA, but can pull items in from anywhere to ship, for you.Are you looking to register the bike here, or just travelling?

I have just returned from a trip through the Americas: Prudhole to Ushuaia. We shipped from Auckland to Vancouver with a NZ company called TNL. They were excellent and relatively cheap. We had our bikes serviced, set up and crated by BMW Experience in Auckland. To cover the head light issue they simply stuck a triangular piece of black tape over the headlight on the right hand edge. If you look on my blog here you can see a photo of where the tape wen on the headlight. http://ebonyandken.blogspot.co.nz/2012/06/day-2-ebony-and-mella-have-landed.html I'll also try to attach it. Hope this has been helpful and good luck. Cheers,Kennif

Im registering and insuring it….Im leaving the bike there to ride whenever Im in town, which will likely be every 6 months, and Im sure my son in law will keep the seat warm as well when Im not around…..I did think about buying a RHD headlight assy from a wrecked bike, that way its pretty simple to make the change and its fully compliant.Al
