I'm looking at buying an R1100RT – 1997 with 103000kms on the clock.  Is this a high mileage for the age of the bike?  What would be an average yearly mileage for a bike?  Any information would be helpful!!  Thanks Dave

It is not high milage as far as the engine is concerned and it is not high milage for the age. I do 20000km to 25000km a year and my bike has 115000km on the clock. If you have the service history and are happy with the appearance and the price, I wouldn't worry about the milage. We have several RT riders who will be able to give you more specific advice.

Dave,My R1100RT is now up to 86K and running fine.  I have done close to 40,000Km in the last 20 month s. I get to serviced regularly and clean it often.  It runs well and is THE most reliable machine I have owned.  As Alex says, service history and state of the bike is important.  All the best. 😎
