Tradition is a great thing, we way more than doubled the size of this run at the second attempt.  We had 16 bikes at the start, and headed to Pirongia for elevenses.  Some had to do the cafe thing, but those of us from the working classes  ;D hit the hotbread shop: their custard squares are world class! From Pirongia we made the obligatory pilgrimage to the Arapuni swingbridge, which most of the sensible folk flagged because of the heat. Seemed to be alot more water coming through the powerhouse than usual: the Waikato used to have some really good rapids before the pakeha dammed them all.

Got to Okoroire a bit late because of the sightseeing, queued up the wazoo for lunch, but the kitchen staff did an amazing job getting tucker up quickly: it's certainly not like we were the only punters wanting feeding.  Rob had taken off for home and work, and may have gotten his lunch on the North Shore before the last of us got served!   Richard Kuysten and UncaMoose managed to spread uncertainty and confusion by eating each others lunches, but in the absence of Jimmy Rubberman, somebody had to do it.  We met up with the seemingly ubiquitous Arne and his camera, his photos are below this post. The trip home started bad: I missed the second corner I had to make, and added a few more kilometres to the trip, sorry people.  (Not feeling flash with a migraine coming on, so I wasn't the most alert RIC you've ever had.) Refuel at Matamata, then Waharoa/Walton/Morrinsville/Quine Road/catch up with and pass Ros, Richard and Anna, Waikare Road, and problems.  Unbeknownst to those of us at the front, Binky had heaved Rincewind and the luggage onto the roadside, much to Jason's surprise when he and the 'Busa came round the corner next.  Binky being restored to a vertical position proved to be only slightly wounded, and Dave and Barbara were also only slightly wounded, apart from Rincewind's dignity, which took a major hit when he caught up with us at Pokeno.  I didn't have to say a word, Dave commented that he had been feeling hot and tired, and half a dozen hands shot straight up in the air, and half a dozen voices asked, "Well, what should you have done?"  I've always said at the start of my briefings to listen in, there could be a test at lunchtime.  Well, those six just passed it, well done, team.  Wendy and I are working on a few ideas - if you have parted company with your bike lately, be VERY afraid!Very big thanks to both TEC's today - Campbell while going, and UncaMoose while returning, special thanks for UncaMoose for looking after Team Willis.

Yet another great day out regardless of the fact that we fell off on a nursery corner on the way home. Thanks again to Uncamouse for his support at the back,he was everything a T.E.C. should be when it counted,I was very tempted though when he asked me what day it was, to say "mines a pork pie and a lager" but I gunuinley think I would have panicked him. (My sense of humour sometimes has to be supressed)Sorry if I inconveinienced you all,I have no idea how you all got so far ahead of me, on reflection I think we got held up in traffic but hey the full story will appear in "the buggah files" if anyone is remotely interested in what went wrong.Barb and I have a couple of bruises but no real soreness, we went down at little more than walking pace,Binky"s rocker cover took a bit of a munting but it is restorable and will be back on the bike by the weekend. The damage to our riding gear is clear proof that if you fall off even at walking pace without it, you are destined for a visit to the first aid box.We rode home had a quick shower and change, jumped into the cage and met up with Team Red Barron in Orewa for a pete murry at the wishing well  (Great tucker)and a gargle at Captain Charisma's pub (Muldoons), if the gaffer ever smiles, write down the date,it will probably get in the history books.......Thank's guys a perfect end to a near perfect day.Regards Rincewind and the Luggage

Another great day out, but I'm sure glad that I have air-con on the cruiser. It was another hot day. And the BUGS !!! I could hardly see through my visor by the time I got back to the NS. Which reminds me, what's the last thing that goes through the mind of a bug when it hits your visor.  It's arse-hole.  Ooops, can I say that on this forum ?Sorry that I couldn't stay for lunch but great to see so many along for the run, and have a chance to chat along the way.Happy birthday half of Team Foley  🙂

like George Washington, I cannot tell a lie or let Richard get the credit for jumping in and getting Unamouse's lunch, but it was what I ordered and no one claimed it so as the tale goes theres only the quick and the dead.If it is any consolation it must rate as being the worst burger I have ever had !!!! serves me right for breaking the habits of a lifetime, roll on the big breakfasts  ;DThanks once again for the ride Bwucie and also Campbell and Uncamouse for TEC
