Husqvarna Chain and Bar Oil. $10:00/L at my local chainsaw shop. Similar characteristics: penetrates, built for low throw, detergents to keep things clean. Because I have a lube-tube fitted it is still flowing in to the dispenser, but so far it hasn't affected the flow rate. I'll just keep an eye on it until I'm running only the Husky stuff and adjust as required (about 10,000 kilometres, probably!)

I volunteer you to try the environmentally-conscious biodegradable  Stihl  bar oil next, last 5l I bought might have run me 60 bucks or so but it is clean'n'green. Mr Chainsaw has been happy with it (lube may not be the biggest issue for that chain…), but the GS is shaft drive and the XR currently oils the chain via the output shaft seal so I'm not in a position to experiment.

;DAnd if the young fellas in town ask (as they do), "What's an old geezer like you doing on a bike, Granpa?"I could say I was, "Stihl riding." Local shop sells Stihl gear, but being a Husky franchise they pedal their oil. I'd have to pedal across to Waipapa to find the nearest Stihl franchise shop. I'll compare the price in a couple of years, when I need more.
