Evening all,Has anyone got some good thoughts on riding boots?I'm looking at a set for adventure riding. Is it worth while getting a set for off road and keeping the road boots or get an adventure boot. Dave

I have Sidi Discovery Adventure boots. They are pretty good and waterproof, to a point, well to the top of the boot. Recently I've bought a pair of older style Sidi MX boots of Richard. I'll be wearing those on the CCA. They offer more protection than the Discos, but I can still walk in them. Just the sort of compromise I was looking for.It really depends what you want from the boot. There are lots of boots out there as you well know, and it's pretty much a sliding scale from slippers to a cast like contraption. You'll have to pick your own sweet spot. Just keep in mind that leg injuries are the most common type of injury in motorcycling. While a good boot will not prevent a broken leg, it will certainly reduce the extent of an injury.

I've been wearing these for a while now and find them brilliant. Not an MX boot but with a good sturdy construction, comfy to walk in and waterproofhttp://www.forbesanddavies.co.nz/product.aspx?entryPK=2793they do a "ATV" model which is similar constructionhttp://www.forbesanddavies.co.nz/product.aspx?entryPK=2961cheersTracy

I would not go past BMW adventure boot I've had my pair since 2001 and really enjoy wearing them. I'm looking at a replacement pair this year but waiting to try BMW new enduro boot which is due out next month if I don't like them I'll buy another pair of BMW adventure boots.Boots must be water proof and  light weight
