Gerda and I reached the meeting point at 10 to 9am. A bunch of people were already waiting, oh good, we won't have to ride alone, I thought :-). A few new faces and a lot of old ones, well, known ones :-).  Even a guy on a new Cagiva had joined us. Before too long we had  22 bikes waiting to go on the ride. There were a few concerns about the weather, but these proofed to be unfounded. We had a rain free ride there and back.Heading towards Wellsford I tried to do the sensible thing when PK and No L came crusing past. Then I thought, stuff it, let's have some fun. I didn't take all that long to reach Wellsford after that.A quick stop at Wellsford for regrouping, saw 4 people return to Auckland. That's always an option if you only want to go for a short ride.We had lunch at Mondo's in Whangarei, always enjoyable with good company. As I left the Town Basin parking lot I had to stop behind a car (red light) a couple of seconds later I get a massive shove from behind. Unfortunately I couldn't hold the bike bike up and it fell on its left side. This is how I met Billy M. who seemed to have a had a couple too many at the pub. He gave me his details, but was keen to get away. I thought I'd better inform the local constabulary before he takes out someone else. They were on the ball and it didn't take long before we were on our way again. Experience will get to check the bike out on Monday. The ride home was dry, but very windy. Thanks to everybody for coming along, see you on the ride to Kawhia.Alex
