R1200R traction control
BMW's new R1200R will become the first road bike to offer traction control as an option.
The new machine replaces the popular R1150R and gets a 109bhp version of BMWs 1200cc engine but the most significant change is that BMW is now offering Advanced Stability Control as an option, which is essentially an electronic system to stop the wheels spinning up.
The system will be combined with the firms latest ABS system and the soon to be available tyre pressure monitoring system to make one of the most electronically advanced road bikes available.
