    Hi all,Will R1200GS BMW OEM engine protection bars fit an R 1200RT? I didn't make it to the Wgn club meter tonight to ask/compare bikes and bars.Thanks,Scott

    Check with Snow Buckton in Whangarai,details in tour guide. He has a set on his RT, I think they might be OEM. Theirs a set on Trade me.

    Cheers Richard.  And the set on Trademe is why I'm trying to work out what fits the R12RT.  BMW OEM Police roll-over protection bars are stupidly expensive; the nearest after-market equivalent range from about NZD350 from Wunderlich to NZD500-ish from Touratech.

    Can't answer the specific question, but the police ones would certainly protect more of the bike than ones running around the cylinders only.Guess it depends also what sort of impact you'll have. I drop my bike regularly, but it has lots of crash protection  ;D
