Hiya,I've kind of been looking out for an "older" GS recently and While browsing trademe, I spotted this http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/Motorbikes/Motorbikes/Dual-purpose/photos/a-87798949/p-35724549.htmIs the indicator switchgear all on the left thumb (a la the F650 series)?  Is that the case on all pre-1100 GSs or has this one been messed with?Enquiring minds, &c,.scott

It may have been changed, I have a '96 Basic that has switchgear very similar to the 1150. However this is an older bike, so I am not sure.Alex

I could be wrong, and it wouldn’t be the first time, but my understanding is that the older GS’s had “conventional left thumb switch gear. However, the PD GS’s had “BMW switch gear, and I think Basic’s like Alex’s are the exception that proves the rule.Certainly, my 1991 80 GS has the same left thumb indicators and switchgear as the trademe bike.I hope that helps

The switch gear on the bike is standard for the bike; i.e. left indicator left thumb right indicator right thumb, cancellation for both by right thumb. That bike is a very nice example of the type (and yes I have seen it!!).Hope this helps.
