Photos: I think I’ve missed something.

I imagine this has been discussed, and I bleeped the thread because I am so used to hanging pictures on my own website if I want to share them. Although it is possible to post photos direct into this site, most folk seem to link to images on Photobucket (whatever that is). Is this simply a space saving thing to keep usage down for this site? Because I have been guilty of posting a coupla photos straight onto here.
The one below, though (the first gif I ever managed to produce myself, a not quite faithful rendition of the Librarian's first off from her scoot), is off my site, so Photobucket doesn't seem to be a necessary part of the equation.

Yes, it will save our allocated space if people use links, rather than actually uploading a photo to the forum.
But also, if you upload a photo, you can post only one photo per message post.
If you want to post multiple photos per message post, you need to use links, such as photobucket.
