Have seen pics of an RT with a Pelican case ad a top box. The mount is the same as my 800ST.Anyone know if its a permanent mount arrangement or is there a bracket to quick release them.Doing stuff on a tight budget (aka being cheap)Daffy
Try the one off Your ST it might be the same fitting.
Most options for mounting luggage involve a plate you install on the bike, and then corresponding mounts on the box, they mate, it's quick release etc. Some brands are compatible with others, some brands offer options for mounting their luggage to other racks or vice versa.A bit of hunting reveals:A givi plate for your bike: http://www.twistedthrottle.com/givi-topcase-rack-bmw-r1200rt-05-bmw-k1200gt-06A coocase plate: http://www.twistedthrottle.com/coocase-adapter-plate-bmw-r1200rt-05-10-bmw-r1200r-06-with-original-bmw-rear-luggage-rack-by-twisted-throttleAn aluminium rack: http://www.twistedthrottle.com/sw-motech-alu-rack-toprack-bmw-r1200rt-05-for-givi-coocase-trax-alu-box-krauser-topcasesCaribou (similar to Pelican) also have mounting options, and adapters to mate to givi etc.
Thanks. In hospital just now and spent last night googling that stuff. Thanks for the input 🙂
