*** My next post below changes emphasis to ask “what is the problem”? ***Any of you installed a Power Commander 5 on a 2nd Gen K1200/1300S/R/GT? My new (to me) 2008 GT has the latest software and I find in runs very rough when off the throttle or on neutral throttle, very annoying after the smoothness of the K1200LT. If you have, can you let me know why you decided to install, who did the tuning and what were the results?TIA.

Have the airflow censor in the air cleaner checked,My 06 GT ran real rough when I first got it,idle would go up to 3000 rpm some times on trailing trottle. What a differance when BMW replaced the airbox and sensor.

Thanks. I will ask Sebastian about it. Several people have said they have had fueling problems. When asked they say things like:a. When on neutral throttle, just cruising at 100kph, the bike is jerky as the fuel stops and starts.b. When on no throttle and the throttle is opened, its is very jerky.c. Like you have said, on no throttle, it starts hunting up and down the revs.... its none of those. What it is is when on no throttle or neutral throttle (cruising at 100kph) it is very rough through the handlebars, this roughness is consistently there.  As soon as you accelerate it disappears. At first I thought it was mechanical, but I can't see it....Engine/bearings... why only when unloaded?Gearbox... why only when unloaded but in gear? I will say it is rough when in neutral and the clutch is released.Clutch... why when release but only when not driving?rest of drivetrain... why only when not driving?... therefore seems to me it must be in the fueling.Any thoughts?Ralph

Hi Ralph,Check out this thread http://bmwor.org.nz/forum/index.php/topic,1934.0.html it may help explain the issue. I purchased a accelerator module for my F650GS twin which solved the on/off throttle responce that had been an annoyance to me from new. At less than NZ$90 a suspect it would be a much cheaper option than replacing the airbox and sensor.Gr82briding

Thanks Gr8… from that link I can't tell what the problem everyone is trying to solve. I know of the Boosterplug and the PowerFRK from the K-bikes site, the cable is new to me. Is the problem a variety of problems… or is it the old R1100 series hesitation problem that was eventually solved properly with the twin spark? As I have this very specific issue, I am wondering…Ralph
