I was thinking to get some protection for side of the fuel tank, as I'm going to wear leather trousers and they will rub the tank and leave marks. When I went for a ride with Arne, he showed me how his F650GS is protected with a film. They were really invisible and I didn't notice that his motorcycle was covered with a film until he pointed it out to me. I got a quote for my motorcycle and its done now.He (Alan) did an immaculate job. 😆The company name is Paint Protection Services.http://www.paintprotectionservices.co.nz/He is based in Tauranga but he travels to come to you to apply the film.He happened to come to Auckland a week after I asked for a quote, and it was done while my motorcycle was sitting at Haldane. He has various "kit sets" for individual models. The kit set is pattern of films and he won't cut the films over your motorcycle. The film material he uses comes from here.http://www.ventureshield.com/The attached image file is a kit set (pattern) for my motorcycle. Most plastic areas and some frames which are likely to get damaged by chips were covered.I paid extra and asked him to cover the front forks too.I found that another dealer sells a kit set for DIY.But I had no intention to do it by myself for this kind of job, as experience will make a huge difference for the finish.
I always get my cars done, well worth the cost to prevent stone chips on bumpers and bonnet, and have used some offcuts to protect the bike.Learned my lesson when I had a black car and it had white undercoat on it so that by the time the car was a couple of years old the bonnet looked like it had been peppered by a shotgun, certainly lowered the value of it.
it had been peppered by a shotgun, certainly lowered the value of it.
well you do live in Auckland so it probably was a shotgun homeboy
AnonymousGuest20/03/2010 at 10:30 pmPost count: 2134I have the film on my 450 and has lasted well after many drops of the bike. They say never use high pressure water as this lifts the film.
