We set off from Starbucks five minutes late, which turned out to be good thing as the contingent that started early from South Auckland (about 0930) to do the Mangawhai-Waipu loop en route were running a bit late.Bwucie got everyone lost, including himself (nobody but him knew), on the way to Muriwai to play tourists. We did the usual things, and saw some kinda chooks that liked roosting on rocks. In fact we got up close and personal with them birds, and my nose knows it.We also saw a rather bigger bird gliding around: definitely wouldn't want it to poop in your porridge. We met Shah at the gannet rookery, and he tagged on with us for the ride back to town.My compliments to all riders, everyone was content to travel at the pace of the littlie on the run, which is what oldies/littlies is all about

AnonymousInactive17/01/2010 at 6:56 amPost count: 128Thanks Bwucie – thoroughly enjoyed our run today. From what was advertised as a short run from Westgate to Muriwai you certainly put together a great package of roads, scenery, weather and company. With each km we are gaining more confidence and we look forward to more runs of this nature. Also great to see Loins at the start (on an errand from Remuera !!!), a young guy who decided to tag along behind Paul and Wendy (TEC) at the first regroup and of course Shah at the half way mark. Boy oh boy – you could feel so much love at the table whilst consuming ice creams and coffees as we heaped praise on each others improving skill levels. Can't wait for next weeks Smashed Pipi Run ... 😀
