Assuming us “Grim Digger” vets don't get plastered in the morning, we will leave from Autobahn BOMBAY at 1300 for a little and local cruise. I'm gonna have lunch at Autobahn, feel free to join me before we depart. No, I will not be wearing my medals. I will be remembering my cobbers, but then, I tend to do that every day.[hr]I thought putting Bombay in bold RED capitals would do the trick, but there is always one. Rides an RT in his favourite Ferrari RED, and calls himself RED Baron, but still waited at Papakura. But I won't mention that, because it's not a pick on Alex day.At least the weather was great, the roads (Bombay to Tuakau Bridge, 22 to Hetherington Road, left at Rotongaro to Rangiriri, and good old forty flavours at Pokeno) brilliant, and the company good on what was a pretty sombre day for an ex serviceman. One of the Iroquois I used to ride around in 42 years ago (and they weren't brand-spanking new then) going down on April 25 was not a great thing to wake up to. Once again Young Jim and Unca Moose shepherded the oldies littlies along, while I skipped around ahead taking pointy-snappy pictures and finding the corners we needed to get us to the ice cream shop. Shah, Jim, the Librarian and I headed straight home from Pokeno, the Pukekohe triumvirate of both Pauls (Foley and Unca Moose) and Wendy headed back for the rapidly-becoming-traditional after match Wendy cheese scones and muffins. Wendy STILL hasn't booked her Restricted test, but assures us she doesn't mind chugging along at 70kph - including when she is overtaking cars doing 95. TAKE THE TEST, WENDY!!!!!! 😛YoungJim on the DR650
Wendy and the 70kph(yeah, right) cruiserThe LibrarianRED Baron with Shah in the background.YoungJim shaking his head.......................and me, too. Build a shrine on the roadside, and leave booze there as an offering?!! 😕 😕 😕 Wonder what caused the accident? And there is an incredibly crappy video clip here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/bwucie/4550254518/

There's no doubt that the Franklin/Waikato areas have ideal m/c roads for both beginners and experienced riders. BTW, thanks all for waiting at the “Bombay” Autobahn, as usual I didn't read the fine “RED” print. 😳
