Hi AllI am the webmaster of the BMW Motorcycle Club Cape (http://bmwmotorcycleclubcape.co.za) in South Africa. You guys seem fairly like-minded so I thought I would join to see what riding a BMW is like in your part of the world.I ride an 1150GS named 'Mr. Badger', and sold (gave) my 20-year old son my first BM - a Funduro named 'Brenda Buttercup'. My wife Julie occasionally rides pillion on the more interesting off-road trips, and our youngest rides a Bajaj Pulsar until he is old enough (and wealthy enough) to get a BM.We love fynbos and have a protea farm and business, and some of our customers are Kiwis.
Welcome to the forum Charles. I've had a look at your club website and was very impressed. We'll need to look at taking on some of the features you guys offer.Just help me out here, what are/is fynbos and proteas? Alex

Hi Charles Welkom op ons forum dit is Boef-Baf hier. Jy moet die proteas hier sien. That was just a warm welcome in Afrikaans and I told Charles he must see the proteas we have here in NZ. Alex fynbos has the features of the Manuka. The fynbos is a protected species in Cape town and the protea is the flower that has replaced the Springbok emblem on the South African cricket tean's badge. I will send you a photo of one. Charels say Hi to Leon Kroucamp and the other Capies for me.Cheers Boef-Baf now Mirror- Man Long story. 😀 ( Hentie Beukes )
Hi guysThanks for the warm welcome. Fynbos is the vegetation found in mediterranean climates, also called 'Chapparal' and some other names I cannot think of. The word literally means 'Fine Bush'. Which is why our website that explains it all is at http://finebushpeople.co.zaI am looking forward to visiting New Zealand later this year, and maybe go on a ride or two while I there - time and money permitting. Julie and I are about to have an empty nest with my youngest in his last year of school, so next year we start a few years of living in different countries, starting with New Zealand!regardsCharles
