Just had to share this.  I appreciate mountain bikes are very light, but surely having it up so high, and so far back, is really going to stuff up the handling? I did wonder if there were any other odd add-ons out there?original threadhttp://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=226835

I thought I had a strange mind! WHY WOULD YOU?What I do is wander out to the playpen (oops) garage, and make a decision about whether I am gonna ride the motorbike, the pushbike, or my rollerblades.(Although I generally carry my body-surfing gear on the motorbike in summer - tried carrying a board as a youngster, believe me, that is not a winning formula!)

not for me Alex – I find my 1150 challenging enough off road without adding further to its weight 🙂the americans over on ADV seem to willing to take their oil head GS's anywhere - not me too faint hearterd :-(, I've had to resort to a DR350 for the more challenging off road stuff - cheers Aslan

Cool idea! I wonder if the MTB rack can be fitted to a K1200GT?  Until lately, I had no car, only bikes - and in Auckland, one needs to drive 45 min to find decent mountainbiking! I would definitely have looked at this option, had I not recently bought a car to carry the MTB to the dirt-tracks!  Probably looks better on a GS BMW, though!Peter GT (and BMW MTB)
