Hey everyone,I've uploaded some pics from our two month, 7600km tour of (some of) India from Jan/Feb this year. Bike was a 500cc Royal Enfield Bullet Machismo we hired from IndiaBikes.com. Starting in New delhi, we went west through Rajasthan to Jaisalmer, south through Vadodard in Gujarat to Daman and Diu, then a l-o-n-g trip through the middle of India to Darjeeling in West Bangal, and back to delhi by train from New Jaipulgiru (24 hours and 1400km). Last bit was Delhi to Agra. Not an easy trip, but well worth the experience. I'll put some more pics up as we sort through them.http://s1294.photobucket.com/albums/b619/scottmacsEnjoy!Scott
Thanks, but you know it's easy to link them to the forum. So people can ask questions about them.
I think the city council should build this along the water front, instead of a stadium. It has so much more character. Those Maharadjas were such hard-working people. Their whole family must have worked on this.
hey great pics nice trip. I think I just might have to keep passing through Otahuhu to get a feel of India. Less chance of dehli belly.

Time to chew up some more bandwidth, me thinks! The bikes were part of a collection at Udai Bilas Palace http://udaibilaspalace.com near Dungapur in Rajasthan. The Maharajah converted the 1940s palace into luxury accommodation - we blew our backpacking budget here, with a night's accom, meals and drinks by the infinity pool totaling about 10,000 Indian rupees (about NZD230). A keen car and bike collector, the Maharajah built a bar into his garage and has 4 bikes (the two BMWs and two Royal Enfields) tucked between original Willy's Jeeps, Jags, VW Beetles... Pics to follow as an inspiration to what our mancaves could/should look like...One bike is an R45, but what's the other? Looks like an air-cooled single.
