Hi,Is there anyone out there who has had any experiences with Motad Mufflers?I am looking at obtaining one to replace the factory unit on my 1992 K100rs 16v. The Motad web site indicates it would be a straight swop over. However I notice some after market units require "Brain" chip replacement or other small adjustments to retain to gain performance. Any observation, guidance or advice gratefully received.Rgds to all.

I guess you were looking at the mbk1s muffler. This unit certainly looks bolt on, but your oxygen sensor will still be intact. that being the case it most likely only require a device on either the air temp or coolant temp to modify fuel input. Suck it and see would work for me, but there must be some comment out there. They would not be still making them because somebody will have got irrate if it caused a bad fault.

Fair points, thank you.I think your 'suck it & see' advice would be the way I will go at this stage unless something adverse pops up.Also, since I posted my question I have also been given a copy of a repair scheme for the original exhaust  system which I am looking at in parallel:-  ref    (http://homepage.ihug.co.nz/~gmerryweather/BMW/Repairing%20BMW%20exhaust.html).Rgds.(Try http://homepages.ihug.co.nz/~gmerryweather/BMW/Repairing%20BMW%20exhaust.html),Your friendly ninja-powered Webmaster and ihug homepages user, Bwucie, suggests.
