What about this 😕 😕"Brycen Spencer, engineering student at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, invented The Wireless Impact Guardian helmet. 😮"He had the great idea that a helmet should not only offer the needed protection in case of an impact, but make sure that the rider is ok and if not, call 911 for him and announce rescuers about the accident and the location. Simple idea, great results: Once the helmet detects a hit, a device attached to it starts beeping for approximately one minute. If the rider doesn’t stop the beep, a built-in communication device calls to the 911 service and with the help of an integrated GPS system the rescuers will be informed about the accident’s location."It is currently going through the patent process." 😐
Sounds quite clever, did they say if it could be retro fitted to all types of helmets? Unfortunately you can get yourself quite mangled up without banging up your helmet, so I suppose they would have thought of allowing the rider to manually set off the alarm?I would be interested in a device like that, if it is small enough and not likely to implant itself in my head on impact.

Just think if it did that, you would be able to call 911 just by banging your head on a wall. 👿
AnonymousGuest06/06/2008 at 9:39 pmPost count: 2134And around beautiful South Auckand you could use one to detect when you have been thumped by street gangs. (Came home from work at half past eight the other night and had to call 111 for a street fight in the road before I even got inside the house. 'Rewa Hard.)

I'd be calling 911 way to often them, in my job I do this daily.
