Hi down there, everybody in Germany who is searching for informations about adventurous bike-tours goes to http://www.possi.deIt's a German doctor who is travelling the world for many years on his HPN-BMW with more than 300.000 KM's now. Fantastic pics on the page as well...It's so to speak the mother of all travel-pages in Germany...His last big journey led him through North-East-Africa from Kenia back to Germany.Somewhere in the middle of nowhere in Africa he met 6 Kiwis on BMW F 650 GS on their way from Cape Town to London.http://www.worldbybike.comIt's amazing - when I met Kiwis abroad it always have been on the octoberfest in Munich. But obviously they are travelling Africa as well...  👿Are they well known in NZ or even club-members??Ok, have to search my easter-eggs in the snow now  😀Bernd

My mother has just called and told me that Bernd has died in Africa . Bernd went there to work in an orphanage in Kenya. According to a now confirmed report, he got killed by an Elephant the day before he was due to fly back home to Germany. At the time he was employed at a lodge in Kenya. We are quite shocked, as we had been in contact with him and he was a regular at my parent’s house. Bernd was a really nice guy, an adventurer at heart, always on the look out for the perfect woman. We will miss him.

Didn't know Bernd, apart from this: that's sad… but like my Round The World sailing mate Blakey dying on the Amazon in a gun fight on his yacht: it beats karking without your boots on or in a bed. RIP, Bernd… obviously a good bastard, as we say over here.Loinsps Also very happy to report that I have just acquired an F650GS to go with the 1150RT (which has just returned from a tour of Argie and Chile) ... what an understanding (current) wife I have!!! (Mind you she married well!!)
