The LT has done 55.000Km's and is up for a full set of new brake pads. I have an estimate of between $800 – $850 for new ones fitted from the dealer in Auckland. Does anyone know of somewhere else I can try?

Buy some EBC or Verah aftermarket pads. Fitting them can't be all that hard. I think they're around 45 Euro a side.1215773244-4466.jpg

I heard that they were expensive because they have some form of electronic sensor built into the pads but who needs that ?I think you need to do some research Ingel

That'll be why Paul F. was getting an ABS warning on his last long trip on the GT: a pad change fixed it (dunno what it cost him, but.)

Is there a forum for the K/LT bikes? Other BMW bikes have them; GS, Cruiser, RT….

Thank you all for your replies. I was in Hamilton today so called into the agent there. They quoted $240 for a full set of pads (ABS, after market) and between $80 – $160 for fitting. The reason for the variance in fitting cost is that some models are a standard fit and others need to be put on the computer to reset the ABS.  Cheers.
