    Hi All,I've done over 50,000ks on my bike and I need to service/upgrade both my forks and rear shock.After the usual research online I'm considering purchasing fork and shock springs made by Hyperpro (springs only. Not a whole new shock).Unfortunately their website is down at the moment http://hyperprosales.com/2011/09/20/hyperpro-website-offline/ but there is some feedback from a couple of forums;http://www.bmwlt.com/forums/showthread.php?t=66376http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=730032Has anyone had any first hand experience using them?     http://www.gs-parts.de/ Roger Herwig could do you a good deal on Wilbers shocks. I just bought a shock off him. Alternatively, you could try having your shocks rebuilt by Watson racing in Kumeu. He has serviced my Elka shocks for me. Your springs should be fine. They don't wear out at 50000km.  Roger now knows about the GST threshold.

    Hi Kokopelli,I checked out the link in your reply but it's in German and I can't work out how to change it to english. There is a lot of material on various forums comparing the likes of Ohlins - Hyperpro - Wilbers and opinions are mixed as it's a fairly subjective topic. How much did you pay for your shock?My forks have recently become quite soft and bottom out a lot easier and more often and are getting progressively worse. I've not had them re-oiled at all and I know that this will improve their performance but I'm looking for an overall improvement in perfromance over and above the OEM version.Gr82briding

    I bought a basic shock with only preload adjustment. I found a price for an F800GS shock and that works out to NZD 716 plus freight. It's the type 640 with compression adjustment and manual preload.This should give you an idea. Freight is about $45 Euros.     Use a smaller plate for dinner. 😮

    I just got a Wilbers for my 650 Twin, straight from the factory in Germany. I ordered it without the pre-load adjuster. I took my OE shock apart and machined it so it fits the Wilbers. I like Wilbers better thanOhlins. If you give them the right info they set the shock up really well for you.The difference with the OE is significant ( My OE is only 4000 km old), In the front I added the Ricor valve gismo's. They work surprisingly well.

    Sounds like Wibers make a good product but I'm looking at a cost effective (read cheaper than buying a whole new shock) way of improving suspension performance front and rear and respringing seems to be the best (cheapest) option. It's starting to look like I will have to be the 1st in this forum to try out Hyperpro springs. I like the fact that the springs are progressive i.e. are softer at the start of compression and get progressively harder as they compress.Gr82briding

    50k and you're replacing  😮 I was hoping for 70-80k+, as I've just gone through my 50k service.Do you have ESA? It's the dilemma I face, and most likely will have to stump up the cash for Ohlins Mechatronic suspension... Not sure I want to know the price yet...

    Hi Gremlin55k and the springs are bottoming out more often and more easy when fully loaded with pillion or panniers or topbox or a combination of the 3 but still function reasonably well with just the rider. More looking to upgrade/improve performance over OEM springs and I'm just a poor public servant and can't afford new aftermarket shocks (not like you over paid I.T. types!)I wish the F650GS has ESA but alas it is only a cheap (for a BMW) bike and I have to adjust pre-load and rebound dampening by hand.It's Gr82briding
