Thank you once again for the interesting updates, Gremlin. You don't have a GoPro (or similar) mounted on your bike or your helmet, do you? Some of your 'moments' could be interesting to watch. 🙂

I do have a GoPro, most often a case of plenty of other things to do, and the GoPro isn't used. The times I do use it, there are occasions it doesn't want to work, and then the rest of the time, I'm left with a pile of footage I don't want to edit  ;D (like 50GB a day)I'll dig out some I've uploaded, but I'm warning ya, it's boring (and for things like the marathon you'll have to endure my voice unless you mute). I simply edit the length to the event and then upload.I've also tried multiple mounting options. Low/mid crash bar doesn't work, the twin's harmonics produce wavy footage at some revs. Top of the helmet almost looks like aerial footage. Chest gives the best perspective, but you've got the screen and dash in the way.Links:2013 ITU Auckland: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dlJRvVy5tX42013 Ironman Auckland 1: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=498NsTdmkro2013 Ironman Auckland 2: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zkbZb_8OULM2015 Auckland Half Marathon: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zdK7fNbUdPo2015 Auckland Quarter Marathon: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=61kGZNFZEfY

You really need a loudhailer with a pre-recorded message on an endless loop telling people to move left.I've actually considered installing an Innovv K1 (www.innovv.com) forward and rear facing camera set on the bike. The dashcam I fitted to the car has paid for itself and evidence from a bike camera could be useful in some situations, too. With the Innovv there's no problem remembering to switch it on and off, although the mounting positions of the camera may not be ideal for documenting the ride itself.

Most that seem to record their every day rides shouldn't be throwing stones, if y'know what I mean  😉Yeah, I was actually seeking a very specific speaker, as it needs to be waterproof but slimline as most are designed for squad cars (unfortunately the model I want, the supplier won't make a video available of it's options). You would have also heard us vary the instructions based on where we are. We're in bluetooth comms with each other in the marathon, so we can talk, adjust commands, speed up or down etc. The bike behind me is a former air force officer, so he's got no problem projecting his voice and shouting... he's kinda the front line. I'm trying to be a little nicer in the Half giving people some warning, but they move back again... then they get him plus his Stebel. On the quarter I was by myself, hard work, almost had to let the runner fend for themselves. Hence in the rules where it is strongly advised not to use personal music devices.Or, you can turn around after persisted yelling and tooting, see a motorcycle bearing down on you, panic, and run like a rabbit left and right in front of me until your friend yanks you to the side. Your choice  ;D (can't remember if that was 2013 or 2014...). You could also forget what left and right mean and move into my path instead of away... just to add in something special for us  ???No requirement for it when doing media duties, but when I'm leading an event or suchlike, I've got emergency grade orange flashing LEDs for the front of the bike that are usually pretty good for getting me seen (provided they're looking in the right direction).
