Interesting, I brought a new visor 3 months ago, who have you been dealing with? I use the guys at botany honda (because I can walk there from work), Had to buy a new visor after a wee accident with a wet cloth and antifog coating (say no more). I'm sure it was only $150 ish for a new one, maybe that's what I told the wife 🙂
Thanks - I'll check overseas. I don't mind paying a little more here but if it's double or triple then that makes no sense.Cheers and thanks for the update.
Di you check out the Beaher helmet? how did it fit and feel?
AnonymousInactive08/10/2008 at 7:50 amPost count: 286Not yet Dean, been busy working down a lidt of biking to do's. I managed to get a pinlock for my helmet as a temporary solution and also learnt the pinlock for the Nolan is $29. I'll definitely check the cost of parts in future. The helmet purchase will probably wait till after the Grand Challenge now.I will take a look at the baehr though.Cheers

Launched in Europe in Sept and 1st shipments in NZ now.Cycletreads have at least 1 in stock to look at - probably in Large Size (60-61), which is probably more like 61-62 cf other makers. It is the quietest so far, and is 2cm shorter, 1cm narrower, larger internal slip-down sun visor and pinlock as standard! Also significantly lighter than the C2. Looks more like a full-face when front snapped shut. Have chosen (boring) white - for safety reasons.2 rides so far - and it is brilliant! AnonymousInactive24/11/2008 at 10:30 pmPost count: 286Thanks Peter. I've been really impressed ith the pinlock I fitted and that may do me for now.I'm a little busy trying to get everything done including the bike stuff. My next purchase ahs to be adventure boots or a combo option. I split my Alpinestar at the 42nd and luckily got Gemmell's to repair it good as new. They've been great boots and keep my feet dry in all weather. The only time I got wet feet was walking through a river, but that's to be expected.CheersP.S. Are you around for a coffee? or Ride?
AnonymousInactive26/11/2008 at 6:57 amPost count: 32Yes – sure: coffee or a ride, sometime. Although I have not tried these boots in the 'wild' yet, they are really comfy to wear for walking about (eg viewing WRC Rally on mucky ground). Waiting for F800GS to materialise in the next week to give them a decent try-out. Called Diadora 'Mud' and seem to be designed for quad-biking. More flexible than MX boots but should be ideal for adventure activity!(Did I see you on Manukau Rd, Epsom recently while commuting on the MP3scooter?)Peter Zhttp://www.motoretail.co.nz/images/products/6124_s.jpg

Yes, I waved twice and all the other times I never realised it was you riding past my home. I live around the corner but walks and coffees are when I've seen you. At least i can recognise you now.As Dean said, how much for the boots. I didn't realise there was a softer quad option. I'm looking for boots for the adventure stuff and had only consider MX boots.Cheers.
Have a look at ATV boots.. there are a few more around the place. Even on the Motomail site.Dave
I've bought the Sidi Discovery. They seemed a bit more substantial than the boots above._Motomail has them for around $350+ ? My next boot will be most likely be the Sidi Crossfire. They are comfortable and offer real protection. When riding deep ruts, past tight places or tree stumps you need a proper boot with plenty of ankle support and protection. That is you don't need it until you wished you had one, a bit like ABS really :-).For gravel roads a road boot should be fine.
AnonymousInactive28/11/2008 at 8:24 amPost count: 32Price for “Diadora Mud” is $399 at Motomail, (though you might get a better deal if you ask Chris nicely!)Cheers, Peter http://www.motoretail.co.nz/productlist.cfm?Group=25
