Did you PM me?Anyway, using the Givi Trekker 46L as a top box on the back of my GSA. It seems like a much tougher box than some of the other Givi range. I don't bother using the funny catch mechanism that allows you to open only a bit of the, but then you'd probably use it more on panniers.I didn't bother getting the BMW aluminium box as it didn't seem big enough. I also wouldn't recommend using the wider givi boxes on the GSA as a top box because they foul the alumium panniers too much (if you're hinging on the front).

Hi Grem, yes I saw a pic of your GSA and recognized the Top box.  I'm thinking along the lines of a large on the right and a small on the left to balance things up a little.  I already have a Monokey plate with a Maxia top box which I will junk (too big and bulky) and just use the small Trekker as a top box if required.  When away for more than a couple of days I'll use a roll bag on the top plate.  Many thanks for your reply.

One thing I realised this morning I should have said. The little lock cover doesn't do the best job at keeping the lock clean (but it's the same as the other Givi boxes), for example, the plastic push tabs on the GSA aluminium boxes are really good. With the Givi I've found you need to re-lubricate the locks now and then to keep them functioning properly. Not a major... but there ya go.

Further to my search for panniers I spoke with Gr82briding and had a look at his SW MOTEC TRAX SYSTEM.  The panniers are considerably lighter than the Trekker with a better mounting system so I have some on the way.  Thanks for all the input guys.

As a matter of interest, where/ how did you order the cases? And what was the delivery cost? Regards, John

I ordered them through Colemans Suzuki.  Unfortunately they haven't arrived yet!!! Been a real saga ending last night with a call from the importer in Christchurch to say their order had finally arrived but no Trax pannier kit for the GS.  He was to speak with SW in Germany last night and I await his call.

You must be getting to the end of your tether by now! I hate to say it but if you had ordered them through Motorworks they would have been at your door weeks ago ::)!Hi Iconer

Yes  I'm more than a little frustrated and may well end up ordering from Motoworks. In the meantime a holiday is looming and it looks as if we will have to take the C and cut down a little on luggage.
