    Hi.

    Can some one assist me regarding the buying of the Mapsource CD and Disk for the Street pilot in the Wellington area. I need NZ maps for my unit. I did mail Garmin in NZ, but no reply.It will be helpfull for me as I have the unit in South Africa on my bike and don't want to be late for my new job each day and to find all the towns and addresses.

    The last time I looked, Garmin maps for NZ were not very detailed, and certainly did not have street-level coverage of any towns or cities. Only major roads, mainly state highways, were covered.

    Full coverage of NZ streets and roads has only recently become available, and there are only a few suppliers who have it. Including Navman (http://www.navman.co.nz/) and Goldfinger (http://www.goldfinger.co.nz/).

    Dick Smith Electronics (http://www.dse.co.nz/) have a range of Garmin products available, but no NZ Map Source.

    There are maps of NZ available, which will allow you to transfer routes to a Garmin GPS. One of the better-known ones is TUMONZ (http://www.tumonz.co.nz/). They now have an on-line map which may let you find the route before you get here.

    Hm. Was considering purchasing the Garmin Quest for my upcoming moto trip… Maybe it’s not a good idea…

    The New Zealand gps maps is available now for the older gps, or outdated maps. ( City Nav New Zealand V2 )

    Can be purchased from Barton Marine in Oriental Bay in Wellington.Phone 04-385-1491. Price $399-00. 🙁 Well, what can be said about the price?
