Is there anywhere in Auckland where one can get fitted for moulded earplugs? It seems the ones I have which are 'off the shelf', not customised and bog standard, are not comfortable. If something's not comfortable, of course, you don't use it. Any ideas? I met this bloke the other day who said he had a pair made by some outfit at the Puke Classic meet as I recall.  I know that you can get some plastercene type material which is good for making swimming ear plugs, but I lost mine somewhere in the back of my old swim-cap and I never saw them again.Any ideas?Cheers and thanksLoins

I got some of those moulded ear plugs made at one of the race meetings and to be quite honest I was not very happy with them. One of them split after a couple of times wearing them and while the people who made them were very good and glued it up they soon split again. They did offer to replace the offending one but I found they were difficult to get in place correctly and so gave them up.I normally use Alpine plugs but recently have started using normal foam plugs which I find are very comfotable and you can get them in different grade of protection. So I suppose its up to you which suits you best, just as long as you do wear some form of protection, just like some of the other pastimes we tend to indulge in !!!  🙄

I have used these for years now and find them VERY comfortablehttp://www.heavywater.co.nz/hw_noise.htmthey are soft silicon and seal well without feeling like they are deforming your ear canal 🙂CheersTracy

Thanks, Team. I have ordered some and we'll see how they go. I also found my old plasterscenic swim ones, so I'll give them a go as well! Cheers Loins

Tracy On your recommendation, how could I not order Heavy Water!!! I will give them an earful on the weekend... hopefully the heavy water expected from above will be thru by then! Mind you, I checked out the other recommended site, run by a fellow member, and there are some interesting items to titilate the imagination on that site as well! Cheers, and thanks Loins
