Can't wait Dave, I guess all of the ex eds lusted after seeing their copy in colour but as you found the cost back then was prohibitive.  I got as far as an issue being printed then realized they had  quoted me for one issue not eleven!!!!!!  So back to black and white.  Gary has worked hard at this and I'm sure it'll revitalize the mag.  I found a copy of my attempt and you'll notice I picked up a small error and marked it for correction but never to be seen. There are a few faces we don't see any more and a few we hardly recognize myself included.001-2.jpgI'm on a roll now, this one was an early proof:002-2.jpg

Back in the days when the club officials tried to return some of the funds to the members instead of playing Gollum we made some centre page spreads in colour. The page cost the same as the whole mag to produce so we only did one or two a year after a special event. I have asked the MemSec to switch off my paper mag and occasionally read the on-line one. I don't like the 'flash' one and would prefer the simple .pdf file that we used to have.cheers,RRDT

Agreed, Dick.I'm still lobbying for a downloadable pdf in lieu of print for those that opt in - available + or - a day or so from when the snail mail version is due.  I have a sense we are getting a bit closer to that. The pdf is now downloadable, with a wee bit of fuss, from a link on the bmwor.org.nz news feed, or from issuu.com.  Either of those means you have to futzinger around with a Flash interface to get your download started - POX ON THAT!I want right click, save file as.  It won't happen overnight...........................

I've removed the poll from this thread – those of us that want, want, those that don't, don't.We know that, and I know how easy it is to set up, and I can be like water on a stone..................

As part of the folding team last night, I was privy to the release of the newsletter in FULL COLOUR. Look forward to it; you will be impressed. I must confess when I heard about the inquires going on for a colour Newsletter, I was sceptical, as I had gone through the same exercise when I was editor. I had a sample copy printed in colour, but the end result was shiny pictures that did not look good at all. This month's edition is using different paper and a different printing system. I put my hand up for the continuance of this very much improved Newsletter.I am sure you will share my enthusiasium when you receive your copy before this weekend: - Posted out today.

Just arrived in my snail mail box Dave and it's been a long time coming, and at that price is a steal - well done Garry.  😀  Only pity is that the effect of technology on bikes is to drive the cost up!!! wonder why.
