It is not an official BMWOR event but some of you may be interested.CHALLENGE WANAKA 2010 –an “iron distance” event, where competitors swim 3.8km, cycle 180km and run a marathon just to finish off. Each year we seek 10 motorcyclists who wish to volunteer their time generously to cart media and TriathlonNZ officials around our bike course on Saturday 16th January 2010. We ask you to meet in town at 7.30am so we can match you up with your pillion passenger, and then you are largely at your passenger’s whim as to where you go on the course, and how long you are out for. Most of the time you will be finished sometime shortly around the first cyclist finishing. We ask that you provide a spare helmet for your passenger, and any other clothing you wish for them to wear if at all possible. We do make the offer of petrol vouchers so that you are in no way out of pocket for your fuel consumption. If this sounds like something of interest to you, and you are needing an excuse to add Wanaka to your summer riding destination list, please go to http://www.challenge-wanaka.com/volunteer.html and register your interest on the right hand side of the screen. Many thanks in advance! Oh. I can identify with that: the selfish seat cover NEVER comes off my pillion for a person, only for the tent!
