Hi Guys,Front brake pads are up for a change, so just wondered if there were any recommendations out there other than OEM replacements  :?.I don’t know what pads are in there currently, but I have been getting small corrosion spots on some of the spokes, so I assume a metal particle in the pads, so I am considering Premier (manufactures name - made in England) Kevlar pads.I dont do front stoppies (rear wheel up) and just commuting and touring duties required from the pads.Cheers,Mike 🙄

I believe EBC and Premier are the same or linked companies. They make good stuff and I do like Kevlar pads. I've had no problems with them from a stopping or fade point of view both on cars and bikes. However, I have found they don't last all that long on bikes and they seem to generate a lot more brake dust. If you like clean wheels I would advise you to stay with the OEMs.

Hi Guys,I fitted the Premier brake pads this weekend after giving the calipers a birthday with a new seal kit each and new Dot 4 brake oil and after the intial wear in period, the brakes are excellent now. Two finger braking is applicable otherwise the rear wheel may be doing a wheelie! The brake pads I took out were the originals I think, as they were Brembo. The new Premier Kevlar pads are a hell of a lot less dusty as well.My bike is like a new one now, new tires, new pads, calipers overhauled, new fluids all round, brakes, engine, gearbox and final drive! Just need the time now to ride it some... 😆Cheers,Mike

Just changed my final drive oil and it was a very dark colour, just wondering if you noticed the colour of yours? Seems odd that the final drive oil should be so dirty, I changed it about 18months ago and don't remember anything odd about it then. R1150GS 2001.

Hi Alex,My final drive oil was "cloudy" by comparison to the BMW Spec Castrol 90 grade oil I replaced it with.My bike its a 1999 bike and has 57000Kms on the clock. I only changed the oil, as I thought my gearbox was sounding more clunky than usual and wanted to change that, so to do the final drive oil at the same time seemed logical and its easy to do anyway. I cannot say that the oil was a dark colour though - I hope that does not cause you any worries about what you found? 😕Cheers,Mike
