had one new as a Police bike (TIC model in 1996) we had six. my plate began with 3. not a bad bike. wobbled a bit at 195kmh but went away and topped out at 225kmh. Ya had to get to those jobs on the motorway quickly.

The bike in question wouldn't get Steve B to his lunch quickly enough. That's why they introduced the Eagle helicopter.

Steve: K1100LT  Rego 3TKU was on Trademe a few months ago.  My 1997 is 4TKU-not for sale though. Presumably these were two of the six the police had.  Like it a lot, but not even thought about winding it up to your alleged speeds-not even to get lunch.

According to the handbook, with the LT's screen and boxes on, you ain't s'posed to do more than (I think it is) 140.Never worried my K100, and nothing flew off.It intrigued me that when it hit the limiter in 5th, the speed displayed was within 2kph of the theoretical terminal velocity. Either a very accurate speedo, or they build a compensatory error into the rev counter.
