The results of an international BMW Club survey undertaken from July last year were made known to us at the Council meeting in Vancouver. The good news from the survey is that 96% of respondents were super enthusiastic about belonging to their respective organisations. The not so good news is that the sample size of 2.8% in not large enough to validate this survey. Only 8% of BMW club members in Australasia completed the survey, 223 from Australia and 21 from New Zealand. As the BMWOR is a member club we ought to see if we can do a bit better than this. To participate in the BMW Club survey give yourself 15 minutes and go to http://www.psyma-surveys.com/uc/bmwclubs/ The survey will be open until November 30th, 2008.There’s a question relating to the number of “automobiles” you currently own. I took this to mean both cars and bikes together, but “automobiles” appears to relate only to the number of cars you own, so I had to go back and amend my answers. There is a separate series of questions on the number of motorcycles owned that follows this. Other than that the survey was very straight forward. The important thing to remember is that BMW Classics provides a significant amount of funding for the retention of Clubs International and local BMW Groups provide a great deal of support for their clubs, such as BMW NZ continue to provide us. A valid survey will be enormously helpful in convincing the decision makers at BMW AG that we’re worthy ambassadors of that support.CheersGarry
