Hi all,I've been searching hi and low for a Bluetooth intercom for rider/pillion and bike to bike comms (around town the missus and I have our own Street Magics 😀 the difference being mine has been 'worked' and does about 120kph!!)Anyway...... found this system from Italy. Read the reviews online, and am impressed by the stats. Had a look at the kiwibiker forum, and the users of these in NZ also seem to be suitably impressed.Have ordered two through Acquire, a mail order company in Auckland. They are $50 cheaper than Dick Smith at the moment (about $200 vs $250), but both places don't have any in stock, you'll have to wait.In case anyone is interested, here is the website for the manufacturer:http://www.interphone.cellularline.com/area_prodotto/specifiche_tecniche_ff_e.htmlAnd here is the website for where I purchased them:http://www.acquire.co.nz/acquire/default.asp?PageID=ProductDetail&pf%5Fid=861193&dept%5Fid=3100060&mscssid=PUDKLWME22M08PV8N8KMS2H55JGA593EBe aware that there are two versions. Full face (floppy mic boom), and open face (rigid mic boom). I have a System 5 helmet, so have ordered an open face system, as that is what the recommend. Wife has a full face, but we will still try an open face system. If it gets in the way, then we'll purchase the open face mic/speaker separately. She'll be getting a System 5 for her birthday, just as I did for mine 😮 Lovely helmet!! especially with the tinted visor. Brmmm brmmm I'm just off today for 6 weeks working in Sunny Africa, hopefully I can give a report on how well they work when I return (if they have been delivered!!).I will be checking here daily, depending on internet/power access.Cheers
Enjoy sunny Africa :-). The system looks good. If it performs as promised it will be a hassle free option for bike communication. Let us know how you get on.
AnonymousInactive14/09/2007 at 2:13 amPost count: 17In a word, Fantastic!!I've set them up temporarily on our old HJC helmets, as they are expendable if I stuff it up, and they are very noisy. We've been riding around town on our scooters (mine has a very noisy pipe on it), and the performance is brilliant. Easy comms, and the range is at least 100 meters when both bikes are visible. Around corners the range reduces, but overall I am very happy.Even wifey is surprised by how good they work, and she didn't even want them in the first place!!They weigh a whopping 35g each. I'm going to order an extra headset, so I can just change the unit over from HJC to System 5, instead of having to change the headset over as well. I'll post a piccy or two once I dig out the camera.
