The weather frightened some this year but the Ulysses Club Auckland Branch put on another well organised and well attended ride in support of the Westpak Rescue Helicopter. Eight thousand dollars were raised to purchse a high tech locator beacon for the rescue team. As it turned out, the threatened wet weather that put some riders off was pretty tame and a good time was had by all of the 500 bikes and riders that braved the roads this morning. There are lots of reasons for attending charity runs but for me this one in particular is close to home and it's great to see it getting such good support from Ulysses and friends. Well done to the police who gave us excellent support, the Westpak guys for bringing over the chopper, all who attended and bought badges and tee shirts, and of course the Uly team for yet another good run.Malcolm
