At the Register Meeting I initiated a round of applause for Alex for his service as Area Rep: I repeat that here. Everybody take your fingers off the mouse and keyboard and give the buggar a clap for a job well done.Thank you all for that.................Mr Kuysten? What can you say? It is the kind of scenario any lead rider or t.e.c. dreads - someone decides to take a late pee on a hedge, or drops their bike getting it off the stand, or some other last minute tomfoolery, and you just know there is a split coming up in the run as a consequence. Who are you going to abandon to their fate? I assumed I was left with the plonker, and that the rest of the ride would sort themselves out. It followed from that assumption that the best way of regathering was to go to the midpoint of the ride and head back towards the main group, which happily worked out. It is a nasty feeling losing a ride when you are tail-end-charlie, because t.e.c. is the last resource sometimes if things go pear-shaped, so it ain't a good look if you are not where you are supposed to be.Richard still has his blond hair, so I have finally figured he wasn't playing with his music when he was f**t-a**seing around with his i-pod, he was re-starting his blond instructional tape, "Breathe in, breathe out, breathe in, breathe out......................"Not only does Richard have "open minded sexuality" towards "he-cows", but he is still in contact with his teen-self with his teenage toys. Not a problem for me - I am so old I wouldn't know how to drive an i-pod, so I would never hold people up playing with one. 🙄

What a great day we had on our first ride with the BMWOR. The weather was great and the venue was lovely. We enjoyed a scenic ride enroute to a tasty lunch and Bwucie convinced us to drop in for an ice cream at Pokeno on the way home. Many thanks to everyone for making Kerry and myself so welcome and a special thanks to Alex K. for organising this wonderful ride. Very much looking forward to catching up again at the next event.Cheers, Alex and Kerry

Yes, there were some raised eyebrows :-). On the other hand not many people notice my slight detour.

Reading back through this thread, it occurs to me that I should give consideration, between now and 1 Jan, to resolve not to pick on Richard K next year – unless he thoroughly deserves it. 😀

Yes, the poor man got a bit of a hammering. He has a heart of gold and I am sure there wasn't the slightest bit of malice behind it. Unfortunately he doesn't get to ride to the SI this year, so he must have been dreaming about that.

The bike can keep up no worries, the rider cannot: a small, but important difference.
