Tried proper shops like Grossman Twigg, George Henry, Sulco or Blackwoods, Rince? Could be might you'll have to buy a 3/4″ bar with a socket that size, too. Can't drive it off with a drift? (Or a cold chisel if you feel really agricultural!)

fortunately the bike is in my garage not stuck out in farmer Giles cow shed with access to basic farm implements and various bits of rusty angle iron and a hammer and chisel, which would no doubt do the job and spoil the good looks of the nut in the process.
I had looked at blackwoods  and Grossman Twigg but the numbers after the dollar sign gave me acid re-flux, I will stick with the eBay solution if I can't beg one today---my hour glass still has a bit of sand in it so there's no real rush.( I'm just naturally impatient)

Hi Dave, I've hunted high and low but can't find the one I thought I had – must have got lost in the last move.  Would have been a good excuse to come and have a look.  🙂    Have you thought about hiring something from your local?

Hi Malcolm, I do know one of the club members but he's away in Europe at the moment and I know for a fact that he has a good compliment of the specialist tools this bike seems to need in order to maintain it !I have given up on it for today,it was just that I had a window of opportunity tomorrow to deal with the tyre/wheel while I was passing Barry's Point Rd.I have located the tool on a site called Motomfg.com but it doesn't like my credit card, it keeps flashing up a message to the effect that my credit card address does not match the billing address which is a bit weird. I have a feeling it's something to do with a problem we had some time ago when this area was called "Albany Heights"The tool is only $39.00 plus shipping and is better than a socket as it is shallow and the centre fits inside the hollow axle. Thanks for looking for me that was very nice of you....hopefully you didn't pull too much stuff out in the process.Dave

Ordered a couple of 55mm sockets off Amazon,my buddy Nick wants one as well.Powerbuilt socket with 3/4 drive $50.00 each...free shipping. Also got myself a 3/4 bar as well for $50.00Just when I thought I had every conceivable tool I would ever need

    I went and bought a Ducati !!!
I'm a funny buggah, I like to take my own wheels off and put them back on,----it's a trust thing I guess.....or maybe a survival thing !
