Hi Marto I don't know about the 1150R but on my 1150GS the muffler bolts inside a stainless steel dress tube. I removed the muffler and cut it open so I could remove the baffles and weld a pipe in to make it straight through. Closed the muffler up and put it back inside the stainless steel dress tube. I have also read on the advrider site about owners doing a similar job on the cat. Doing both these mods increases engine performance, reduces weight and exhaust note. I had a full Staintune system on my old R80GS which sounded fantastic.Search the net or UKGSER.com for the Steptoe mod to fueling if changing exhaust systems.Good lucKAdrian
