Not specifically aimed at BMW, but relevant to almost all motorcycles, Motorcyclist Online has started a 4-part series on suspension. Part 1 covers the measurement and setting of rider sag. I generally sag after lunch. When this happens, just head for a sunny piece of carpet with your library book. Sleep will rapidly overtake you, and once you are horizontal the carpet provides all the suspension you need.Do not ride motorsickles or operate machinery when thus afflicted (actually, I don't consider it an affliction.)Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz...

Setting the suspension properly on your bike is worth more than more horsepower. Best thing I ever did with the ST was to spend time and money with Robert Taylor and got the bike sorted properly for the type of riding and the gear we carry. Second best thing was the Rocket Sprockets.R12ST
