Whangamomona Day – 26th January 2013.Bi-annually in January, Whangamomona holds a Republic Day where the president of the Republic is voted in, and people travel from all over to attend the festivities. Past presidents include Billy Gumboot the Goat, he won election by eating the other challengers ballots. Tai the Poodle, who retired from mental anguish following an assassination attempt.
